President of the Syrian National Coalition Anas al-Abda and members of the political committee met a delegation of Syrian trade unions and associations based in the liberated areas in the town of Azaz in northern rural Aleppo.
The two sides discussed the reality of administration and services in the liberated areas and the plans of the Syrian Interim Government which is seeking to implement in the coming period. They also discussed the important role of unions and associations in providing the institutions of the Syrian revolution with the expertise necessary for the success of their work.
Members of the delegation talked about the challenges and difficulties facing their work, especially in the areas of health and education. They called for establishing partnership between trade unions and SIG’s ministries for the development of unified policies and approaches.
Members of the delegation stressed that their work aims to support the SIG’s decision so as to serve the interests of society, uphold he principles of the Syrian revolution, and contribute to the national revolutionary decision-making and protect the rights of its members. They called on the Coalition and SIG to assume their roles in organizing the unions work and organize the relationships between unions and SIG’s institutions.
Moreover, members of the delegation called for empowering unions and associations in the liberated areas and issue a SIG’s circular to local councils to facilitate their work and activate their role in monitoring SIG’s work.
The delegation also stressed the importance of supporting the Women’s Union and legalizing it by the Coalition and SIG in order to activate its work of the Union and empower women in all sectors of society.
They pointed to the need for the SIG to exercise a supervisory role on the projects being implemented by the organizations as they stressed the importance of organizations assuming their role and providing the best services to the civilian population.
