As part of the work of the Joint Syrian-Turkish Committee, Secretary-General of the Syrian National Coalition Abdul Basit Abdul Latif, met Turkey’s Deputy Minister of Labor Mehmet Selim Bağlı in the capital Ankara and discussed with him ways to facilitate the issuance of residency and work permits to Syrian nationals in Turkey.
The two sides discussed the situation of the Syrian nationals in Turkey and the problems they are facing during the process of renewing and obtaining work and residency permits.
Abdul Latif stressed the importance of investing in the Syrian youth holding university degrees as well as those with professions and expertise in the Turkish market.
He also said that the Syrian nationals have been actively involved in the Turkish market as they now own a large number of businesses. He called for Syrian businessmen to be given preference with regard to the issuance of licenses and legal documents that facilitate their work. (Source: Syrian National Coalition’s Media Department)
