Secretary General of the Syrian National Coalition, Abdelbaset Abdullatif, congratulated the German people on the occasion of the German Unity Day which falls on October 3rd of each year. He thanked Germany for hosting the Syrian refugees and for its political support to the cause of the Syrian people in international forums.
Abdullatif received an invitation from the German Consulate in Istanbul to attend an event on the occasion of the German Unity Day which brought together many officials, diplomats, and representatives of organizations working on Syrian affairs.
Abdullatif met with Michael Reiffenstuel, the German Consul in Istanbul, and Klemens Semtner, Senior Advisor on Syria at the German Foreign Ministry. He conveyed to them the thanks and appreciation of the Syrian people to the German government for its support for the Syrian people and the assistance it is providing to Syrian refugees.
Abdullatif stressed that since the early days of the Syrian revolution, the German people have shown unwavering support for the cause of the Syrian people against the Assad regime. He praised Germany’s hosting of hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, noting that the German people have long been known for their support for the causes of peoples and their right to freedom and democracy.
