Dead Regime Soldiers Carried in Vegetable Pickups
While an Assad loyalist was driving his car in the city of Latakia, he saw a Suzuki pickup moving out of Latakia’s military hospital carrying the coffin of a dead regime soldier in the trunk decorated with the regime flag, while his mother was seated next to the driver. She was silent with tearing eyes when she realized that her son’s funeral was going unnoticed. The scene stunned the Assad loyalist, as this kind of vehicle is usually used to transport vegetables. The young man snapped this scene and posted the photo on his Facebook page so that his friends see the way Assad humiliates dead soldiers, who were killed defending Assad’s throne and not the Syrian people. The photo went viral on social networks, and even some people showed anger at officers in charge of the funeral process, while others wondered why there are still soldiers who fight for Assad. Preserving independence and national sovereignty and maintaining the Syrian people's unity within the same Syrian soil is one of the critical pillars of the Syrian Coalition. The Coalition aims to overthrow the Assad regime along with all its symbols and pillars. It also aims to dismantle its security apparatus and hold accountable those involved in crimes against Syrians. In addition, it seeks to achieve a transition to a pluralistic, democratic and civil Syria.
