Russian Officers Fighting alongside Assad Regime against the Syrian People
Revolutionaries of Aleppo published a picture of a Russian officer who was killed while fighting with the Assad regime, which proves the involvement of Russian military in the fighting in Syria. Aleppo’s Media Center published a photo of the identity card of a Russian officer who was killed while fighting on the side of regime forces in the town of Sokhna in the southern rural Aleppo. Badr Aldin Jamous, the Secretary General of the Syrian Coalition, did not show surprise by comments made yesterday by the Prime Minister of the Assad regime, who considered the agreement with Western countries on the Iranian nuclear file “a victory for the Syrian people.” Jamous pointed out that this statement “fits the reality of the actual relationship between the two regimes, where the Assad regime is an integral part of the militias of Iran, the mullahs and Abu al Fadl al Abbas.” The Secretary General added that “when we consider the exchange of prisoners from the Assad regime, we note that it always swapped Syrian prisoners with Iranians or prisoners belonging to the terrorist militias of Hezbollah.” Jamous added that the Assad regime has repeatedly refused to “swap prisoners from officers of the regular army and even Alawites prisoners with Syrian rebels, which not only indicates its lack of national sense but also works in favor of Iran whose forces are occupying Syria.” Furthermore, Jamous derided Iran’s description of backing off on its nuclear program as a victory, saying that “Iran’s giving up of enriching of uranium, for which it starved its people, in order to hold power, does not differ from Assad’s waiver of Syria’s chemical weapons.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)

FSA Blow up a Regime’s Bastion In Kalamoon

Heavy shelling on Qaboun and Barzeh in Damascus
Regime forces pounded the Qaboun and Barzeh neighborhoods in Damascus with heavy artillery, alongside violent clashes between the Free Syrian Army and the regime forces in the outskirts of those neighborhoods. In the meantime, a mortar shell landed near the French school in the district of Mezze in Damascus. FSA Capture Armament Battalion in Dara’a
The FSA captured the Armament Battalion in the town of Basr al Harir in rural Dara’a after three days of violent clashes with regime forces. In addition, the Free Syrian Army clashed with regime forces on the eastern front of Ankhil near Brigade ’15.’ The neighborhoods of Al Sad, the camp of Dara’a and neighborhoods of Dara’a al Balad came under heavy shelling by regime forces, with reports of civilian casualties, some in serious conditions. FSA Capture Villages East Of Hama
The FSA captured the villages of Arshounah, Tel Adami and Qahwaj in eastern rural Hama after violent clashes with regime forces, with reports of regime losses. In addition, violent clashes took place between the Free Syrian Army and regime forces in the town of Morek north of Hama, alongside artillery shelling on the outskirts of the town. FSA Retake Positions on a Strategic Hill near Aleppo
The Free Syrian Army retook of several buildings near Sheikh Yusuf hill near Aleppo. Meanwhile, 25 regime forces were killed during clashes by the FSA on the outskirts of the neighborhoods of Ashrafieh and and Khalidiya in Aleppo, besides suffering heavy losses in equipment. In addition, 20 members of regime forces were killed while trying to break into the village of Jdida near Kwers airbase. Furthermore, regime forces suffered heavy losses by the FSA’s shelling on their positions in Brigade 80 east of Aleppo. More Massacres in rural Aleppo
Twenty-six civilians were killed and many others wounded by aerial bombardment on the city of Al Bab northeast of Aleppo. In addition, six people were stabbed to death, including two women, in the city of Safira east of Aleppo. Meanwhile, Assad’s warplanes bombed several districts of Aleppo, including Tariq al Bab, Masaken Hanano, Jbal Badrou, Ard-Hamra and Al Muwasalat, with reports of civilian casualties. Five killed in Kafranbel south of Idlib by air strikes
Five people, including four children and a woman, were killed and dozens wounded in Kafranbel by aerial shelling on a residential neighborhood in the town. In addition, civilian casualties and massive material damage were reported in the village of Kafrouhin and near the Central Prison in the Idlib province. In the meantime, violent clashes took place between the Free Syrian Army and regime forces in the village of Jebel Ma’atarm and Mount Al Arbin near Ariha in Idlib province, alongside heavy shelling by regime forces on the area. Sulaiman stresses neutralizing “the conflict in the neighboring countries”
The Lebanese President Michel Suleiman said that Ba’abda Declaration, which calls for neutralizing Lebanon in the conflict of axes, in reference to Syria, is “to complement and solidify the National Pact and the independence of Lebanon.” Sulaiman pointed out that Lebanon is “incapable of ensuring development because of the confrontation among the country’s parties, who challenge each other backed by external forces. “The circumstances that Lebanon is going through create a difficult situation. The Independence Day, for the third time, has coincided with what is happening in Syria, and that affects us one way or another.” In addition, he expressed hopes that “peace, security and stability prevail in Syria for the benefit of all the Syrian people, without distinction between classes of the Syrian society.” He also stressed the need to “avoid the repercussions that affect Lebanon due to the turmoil in Syria,” adding that “we must show solidarity instead of discords.” Suleiman stated also that “the turmoil in our neighboring country should incite us to demonstrate solidarity and unity.(Source: Al Sharq al Awsat)
3,400 families flee Kalamoon due to Assad’s aggression
According to report by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, the number of Syrians fleeing Kalamoon who arrived in Arsal since the middle of last month rose to 20,000 refugees, which is equivalent to 3,400 families within two weeks. The town already shelter 20,000 Syrian refugees who arrived in the town in earlier times. The population of the border town of Arsal in eastern Lebanon rose up to 75 thousand, including around 40 thousand Syrian refugees. According to UNHCR, the majority of those who fled Assad’s forces assault on Kalamoon found shelter in Arsal, while the rest are distributed to the villages of Fakha, Al Ein, Sha’ath and neighboring Ras Baalbek.
