President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) Salem al-Meslet, President of the Syrian Negotiations Commission Badr Jamous, Head of the Syrian Interim Government Abdurrahman Mustafa, and Co-chair of the Constitutional Committee Hadi al-Bahra met with the Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit to discuss the latest field and political developments in Syria on the sidelines of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
The two sides discussed the latest field and political developments as they stressed the importance of the Arab role in supporting political transition in Syria in accordance with UN resolutions, most notably the Geneva Communique of 2012 and UN resolutions 2118 and 2254.
They praised the positions rejecting the return of the Assad regime to the Arab League, stressing that the return of the regime means that Iran will have a seat at the League.
