Hundreds of Syrians gathered in front of the Russian Embassy in Berlin to condemn the Russian invasion of Syria and to protest against Russia’s support for Bashar al-Assad without the slightest regard for the Syrian people and their right to freedom and dignity. Demonstrators also showed solidarity with the Syrian people and paid tribute to the victims of the Russian bombardment and Assad’s barrel bombing. They expressed condemnation of the international community’s silence and inaction toward these massacres.
The demonstration was called for by the Syrian Coalition’s foreign mission and the Syrian community in Germany.
The Syrian Coalition’s representative to Germany Bassam Abdullah said that the Russian bold aggression on Syrian is aimed at rescuing Bashar al-Assad, pointing out that the Russian army has become a partner to Assad’s crimes in Syria as it is targeting civilians and rebels with jet fighters and ballistic missiles.
Abdullah added that the demonstration is designed to show the Syrian people’s rejection of any solutions that keep the murderous regime, to emphasize their demands for the departure of the Assad regime and its ruling elite as well as bringing them to justice.
He stresses that Russia must realize that Syrian people will not forget massacres committed by the Russian air force against Syrian children, nor will they forget Russia’s shameful siding with Assad. He calls on Russia to immediately stop its aerial attacks on Syria and to stop supporting Assad. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
