The Syrian Coalition-run Ghouta Women Center for Training and Rehabilitation opened a public library in Douma near Damascus. Muhammad Khir Al-Wazir, director of the Syrian Coalition’s offices inside Syria, said that the project “was launched to improve education for women in the besieged East Ghouta. “These projects are an important tool to counter the Assad regime’s attempts to sow ignorance in the opposition-held areas,” Al Wazir said. The library contains 400 books on entertainment, literature and science. The books, which were donated by residents of East Ghouta, were cataloged within a database to facilitate research and statistical work. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
