Nasr Al Hariri, Secretary General of the Syrian Coalition, said that “the Assad regime continues to practice the most heinous acts against the innocent civilians, including slaughter, burning, and barrel-bombing. Assad’s industrial crimes are primarily responsible for the rise of extremism in Syria, and if they continue unchecked, they will contribute to the radicalization of increasing number of young men in Syria.” His remarks followed rebels announcement that they had found eight charred bodies of civilians believed to be used as human shields by regime forces who retreated from the town of Sheikh Misiqin after fierce clashes with rebels. Regime forces also conducted 14 air strikes on the town and dropped four barrel bombs on the residential areas, while the towns of Abtaa’, Zabadani, and Zebdine in rural Damascus came under similar attacks.
