The General Assembly said it had elected 19 members for the political committee in the meeting held in Istanbul. Four members retained their seat in the of the political committee, namely Anas al-Abdah and Hadi AlBahra, Ahmad Ramadan and Natheer Alhakim. The new members of are: Salah Darwish, Alia Mansour, Abdelahad Astepho, Mohammad Khair Al-Wazir, Mohamed Khair Banco, Nasser al-Hariri, Yahya Maktabi , Ahmed Jakal, Anwar Badr, Jamal Al Ward, Hassan Hashmi, Khalid Nasser, Riyad Hassan, Ziyad al-Hasan, and Salem al-Meslet in addition to the five previously elected members of the presedntial committee: president Ahmad Jarba, Noura Al Ameer, Mohammad Farouk Tayfour and Abdulhakim Bashar as Vice Presidents, and the Secretary General Badr Jamous. Preserving independence and national sovereignty and maintaining the Syrian people's unity within the same Syrian soil is one of the critical pillars of the Syrian Coalition. The Coalition aims to overthrow the Assad regime along with all its symbols and pillars. It also aims to dismantle its security apparatus and hold accountable those involved in crimes against Syrians. In addition, it seeks to achieve a transition to a pluralistic, democratic and civil Syria.
