Secretary-General of the Syrian Coalition Yahya Maktabi said that enabling Syrian refugees return to their homes is the biggest help the international community can offer. “Syrian refugees will be able to return home when Assad’s air force is dealt with as it is the reason behind their displacement,” Maktabi added.
He hails efforts being made by host countries, especially the neighboring countries that have borne the brunt of the refugee crisis, calling on the international community to provide more aid to these countries to be able to secure the needs of thousands of refugees on its territory.
Maktabi also praises the Syrian refugees’ sacrifices and patient endurance of the difficulties and hardships they have been going through for over four years having been forced to leave their homes to escape the Assad regime’s war machine.
He points out that with the end of 2014 the number of Syrian refugees rose to over 3.8 million, mostly distributed in neighboring countries, in addition to around 7.6 million internally displaced according to the UNHCR. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
