President Khoja attended Iftar hosted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the presidential palace in Ankara on Thursday. Many foreign ambassadors were also present at the Iftar banquet.
President Erdogan emphasized, in the Iranian ambassador’s presence, that standing by the Assad regime is not human nor even Islamic, adding that the events in Syria has become a threat to the international security.
Erdogan said that ISIS is a terrorist organization that the Assad regime had unleashed on the Syrian people in order to thwart their demands of freedom, democracy and dignity.”
He called on the international community not to look at Syrian issue through the ISIS threat only, pointing out that the only way to eradicate terrorism is to find a real solution in Syria.
Turkish President expressed his rejection of any plans to bring about demographic change within Syrian territory, criticizing European countries for not receiving Syrian refugees.
Erdogan also called on all countries to cooperatively combat terrorist organizations, whether it is ISIS, PKK, or Al Qaeda, stressing that there is no good terrorist and a bad terrorist.
He said that Turkey has deported more than 1,300 foreigners on suspicion of their intention to cross into Syria to join ISIS, prevented 14,000 more from entering Turkey on suspicion of their intention to take part in terrorist acts. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
