In yet new violation of the UN Security Council Resolution 2118, banning the use of chemical weapons and toxic gases, pro-regime forces targeted the town of al-Rastan, north of Homs, with an unidentified chemical weapon yesterday. Five people were killed and many more wounded in the attack, including paramedics and responders.
The Syrian Coalition renews condemnation of any use of chemical weapons, stressing the need to take these reports seriously and to open an investigation into the attack. The Assad regime continuously uses chemical weapons and chlorine gas against civilians in Syria in flagrant violation of the UN Security Council resolutions and Geneva Conventions.
