The Free Houran Conglomerate reported that it documented the deaths of 24 people in Dara’a province in February, including one person who died under torture in the Assad regime’s notorious Sednaya Military Prison, who had been arrested in 2021.
The conglomerate also recorded at least 27 assassinations and assassination attempts, resulting in the deaths of 15 people, injuries to 9 others, while 10 people survived the attempts. Additionally, it documented the arrest of 17 people by regime forces and the Eighth Brigade in Dara’a province in February, six of whom were released during the same month.
It pointed out that 10 of the arrests were carried out by the Assad regime’s Military Intelligence, four by the Air Force Intelligence, two by the Criminal Security, and one by the Eighth Brigade.
The conglomerate also reported that it documented 11 cases of kidnapping in Dara’a province, including a child. Two people were released, while nine people are still being held captive.
The conglomerate noted that the number of detainees in the province is likely greater than the number documented by the office, due to the reluctance of many detainees’ families to provide information about their loved ones out of security concerns and fear of regime reprisals.
