The Free Syria team won three gold medals at the Victory World Cup for judo in the Turkish province of Sakarya.
The Sports and Youth Commission of the Syrian Interim Government said that the medals were awarded to Abdul Hakim Asad, Abdul Raouf Asad and Muhammad Al-Fateh Qais.
The Syrian team came to Sakarya from the liberated areas under the auspices of the Sports and Youth Commission and in cooperation with the Sports Office in Afrin and the Turkish Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The free Syrian team comprised 34 athletes of all age groups. The tournament will bring together a large number of contesters from Türkiye and abroad. The Syrian international referee, Ahmed Al-Khatib who is Head of the Sports and Youth Commission, will participate in the arbitration of the tournament at the invitation of the Turkish Judo Federation.
