Ahmad Jarba, president of the Syrian Coalition, received an official invitation from the British Foreign Secretary William Hague to participate in the upcoming meeting of Friends of Syria’s core group which is going to be held in London on May 15th. A political source said that the meeting will be held at the request of the president of the Syrian Coalition, who a letter to the foreign ministers of the United States, Britain and France. This is the first ministerial meeting to be held since the stalled Geneva II negotiations. Munzer Akbik, spokesman for President Jarba, said that “the goal of this meeting is to coordinate political, military and humanitarian aid to the Syrian people in their struggle for freedom and democracy. It is expected that the meeting will come out with decisions that tally with the decisions of the previous meetings held in London and Paris, that Assad and his close associates whose who have blood on their hands will not have any role to play in the future of Syria.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
