Vice-president Nagham al-Ghadiri strongly condemns an assault carried out by Iranian militias on the Liberty refugee camp in Iraq on Thursday, which houses refugees from the Iranian opposition. 23 people were killed and 200 others were wounded in the attack.
Al-Ghadiri said that the assault reflects Iran’s hostile behavior against the peoples of the region and its alliance with authoritarian regimes, most notably as the Assad regime. She also said that the Iranian regime continues to persecute its opponents without any considerations humanitarian or international law.
Al-Ghadiri calls on the international community to show solidarity with the victims the attack, to condemn this criminal act, and to take the necessary measures for the protection of refugees in the Liberty refugee camp. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
