Syrian Coalition member Burhan Ghalioun said that the Russians will see their demise in Syria, warning that they will be met with an armed resistance and will be defeated in Syria.
Ghalioun stresses that the Russian president is betting with Russian lives directly by intervening in Syria, slamming Russia’s defence of the crumbling Assad regime. He also warns that Russia’s president will personally face criminal responsibility for aiding and abetting Assad in his ongoing war crimes and crimes against humanity.
He also said that Bashar al-Assad is a worthless pawn at the hands of the states that support him, adding that the real threat is the continuation of the destructive war led by the Assad regime against the Syrian people for nearly five years. “The primary goal must be finding a way out of this war, and there is no exit without moving to a democratic system where the murderous Assad and his inner circle have no place.
Ghalioun emphasized that the Syrian people will not lay down their arms until the Assad regime is removed from power and until the establishment of a free independent state guarantees justice, dignity, democracy, human rights and the rule of law. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
