Vice-president of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Ruba Habboush, submitted a report on her work and the activities carried out by the Youth Office and the Women’s Office during the last period.
Habboush pointed out that in recent months, the SOC has focused on assessing the performance of the offices and developing new plans and mechanisms of work with the aim of supporting women and empowering the youth.
She stressed the importance of supporting the youth and women groupings as well as reaching out to student and youth groupings and associations in the liberated areas and host countries.
Habboush recommended holding workshops and activities aimed at upholding women’s rights in the constitution of future Syria, and ensuring the representation of women and their work in government sectors and local administration.
Habboush made it clear that the SOC is seeking to establish real partnerships with media outlets of the revolution as well as to support and enable them to effectively play their role, and to protect media workers in the liberated areas, especially in view of the repeated attacks they were subjected to.
