Vice president Nagham al-Ghadiri condemns ISIS’s execution of two women in rural Deir Ezzour along with their husbands. ISIS militants have beheaded two women for “witchcraft and sorcery,” in the group’s first known decapitation of female civilians.
“These grisly violations are the result of the international community’s continued ignoring of the Assad regime’s crimes against the people of Syria,” Ghadiri said.
“These violations and crimes against women add to a series of violations suffered by the Syrian women such as kidnapping, arrest, sexual violence and displacement at the hands of the Assad regime.”
She calls on the international community and relief agencies to intervene and protect Syrian woman. She also demands firm punishments towards all crimes against women in Syria along with referring the case to the International Criminal Court. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
