The Interfaith Working Group of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) presented a report on its recent activities to the political committee during its regular meeting held today, Thursday. The report detailed the group’s engagements and dialogues with religious authorities in Syria.
According to the report, group members Basil Ghuneim and Atef Zureiq visited the Endowments and Fatwa Directorate in Afrin to observe key initiatives, including monitoring mosque preachers, training them, and overseeing Quranic classes for various age groups.
Furthermore, the members elucidated the connection between the SOC and the Interfaith Working Group, outlining the SOC’s overarching strategy for working groups and network formation. They emphasized the importance of bolstering communication and coordination with religious communities, fostering decision-sharing, and consolidating collaborative efforts.
