Ahmad Jarba, head of the Syrian Coalition, attributed the failure to meet Moscow’s invitation to visit it to for “already scheduled dates,” adding that “I will be visiting Russia to convince them that their interest lie with the Syrian people and not with the Assad regime.” Jarba stressed that the Syrian Coalition is ready to participate in Geneva 2, but “within the principles of the revolution and the vision agreed upon by all components of the Syrian Coalition.” Furthermore, Jarba pointed out that the Syrian Coalition presented to the London 11 Group premises that were approved by the Ministers of these countries. On top of these premises are opening humanitarian corridors although no positive development was achieved thus far, and I believe opening corridors will open the way for the success of Geneva. Jarba went on: “The talks in Geneva 2 will be in a specific period of time, to lead to the formation of a transitional ruling body with a real presidential executive body and with powers that include the security, military, intelligence services and the judiciary. Bashar Assad will not have any role to play in the transitional phase or in the near future for Syria.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
