Secretary General Mohammed Yahya Maktabi said that the UN Security Council resolution 2209 will remain ink on paper unless the Security Council acts to deter the Assad regime from raining barrel bombs down on unarmed civilians and killing them with chemical weapons.
“While Assad continues to pursue a scorched earth policy and rejecting all international initiatives, his crimes have so far gone unpunished. Seeing this as an international green light to continue with these acts, Assad has circumvented all UN Security Council resolutions on Syria, making them worth only the paper they were written on,” Maktabi said.
The latest chlorine attack on the town of Sarmin is just a new episode of the ongoing genocide Assad has been carrying out against the Syrian people backed by the Iranian militias. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
