Haitham al-Maleh, head of the legal committee, denounces statements made by Lebanese President Michel Suleiman who said that the Syrian refugees “pose a real threat and burden on Lebanon’s unity.” Maleh said that “the Syrians and the international community were waiting for the Lebanese government to condemn the intervention of the terrorist Hezbollah militia in Syria’s internal affairs of, and not to grumble of the Syrian people, who previously received hundreds of thousands of Lebanese and Iraqi refugees and others. The real threat to the unity of the Lebanese people is the participation of Hezbollah in the killing of the Syrian people.” Moreover, Al Maleh said addressing President Michel Suleiman: “The solution to the refugee crisis is in your hands, and you carry the primary responsibility for them. Hezbollah is one of the most important active components within the Lebanese government, which suggests that the silence of the Lebanese government towards the involvement of Hezbollah’s militia is an unacceptable and outrageous participation in the crimes against the Syrian people.” Al Maleh points out that if the Lebanese government wants to stop the flow of refugees, then the solution is in addressing the root of the problem. The refugee crisis in Lebanon will be resolved only when the Lebanese government takes an immediate and firm position towards the intervention of Hezbollah’s terrorist militiamen in Syria.” Al Maleh concluded his remarks stressing that Iran and the Lebanese government must bear the cost of the reconstruction of Syria, as they are directly responsible for the destruction of the oldest country in the world.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
