The Assad regime forces continue to violate the ceasefire in northwestern Syria as many civilians were injured in rocket shelling on the town of Ayn Larouz in Jabal al-Zawiya region in southern rural Idlib on Friday.
Regime forces also carried out rocket and artillery shelling on the villages of Fleifel, Haluba, and Kansafra in southern rural Idlib on Thursday, causing widespread destruction to civilian homes.
The renewed shelling of civilian homes resulted in a new wave of displacement of civilians to outside the targeted towns and villages and also to the IDP camps in the Harbnoush region in northern rural Idlib.
The Assad regime’s continued violations of the ceasefire agreement in northwestern Syria, which was announced on March 5, 2020, have caused further destruction to the region and an increase in the number of IDPs from the towns and villages of Jabal Zawiya region.
