Member of the Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) political committee, Farouk Tayfour, met with members of the General Secretariat of the Syrian National Alliance and discussed with them the situation on the ground in Syria, the developments in the political process, and the results of the work of the Constitutional Committee.
The meeting came as part of the SOC’s efforts to reach out to all Syrian political currents, parties and blocs with the aim of cooperation and dialogue and building real participation.
The two sides discussed the stages that the political process went through from its inception all the way up to the formation of the Constitutional Committee, and the Assad regime’s insistence on disrupting the process and pursuing a bloody military solution.
They also stressed the need of activating all tracks of the political process that were laid out in UN Resolution 2254, especially the formation of a transitional governing body with full executive powers. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
