The Assad regime continues to execute detainees in its prisons in blatant violation of international law and human rights.
The Action Group for the Palestinians of Syria said that it documented the death of the Palestinian-Syrian Fadi Aziri under torture in the prisons of the Assad regime, according to the testimony of a detainee who was released in May 2022.
The London-based monitoring group indicated that Aziri is from the Damascus suburb of Jdeidet Artouz and died under torture in the notorious Sednaya military prison near Damascus.
According to data collected by the Action Group, the Assad regime detains over 4,000 Palestinian-Syrians in its prisons, while at least 644 detainees have died under torture in the Assad regime’s detention centers since March 2011.
