The National Commission for the Affairs of Missing Persons and Detainees held a consultative meeting with the Free Bar Association in Syria at the headquarters of the Bar.
The meeting brought together Head of the Commission, Yasser Al-Farhan, members of the SOC’s Office in Aleppo, Head of the Free Bar Association in Syria, Mahmoud Al-Najjar, and members of the Bar.
Participants discussed ways to develop cooperation in legal issues in the efforts to hold war criminals accountable, including symbols of the Assad regime and terrorist militias.
Al-Najjar talked about the mechanism for conducting democratic elections in the Free Bar Association, while members of the Bar stressed the importance of cooperation with the SOC in order to defend the just causes of the Syrian people.
Al-Farhan reaffirmed the Bar’s right to take Syria’s seat in the Arab Lawyers Union, stressing the SOC’s keenness to cooperate with Bar as key to defending the oppressed and obtaining justice for the victims in Syria. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
