Human rights activists have emphasized that the crimes committed by the forces of the criminal regime in Syria, which have been sporadically depicted in photos and videos disseminated by the media, represent only a fraction of the extensive violations that remain undisclosed.
On Thursday, Zaman al-Wasl newspaper published a distressing video that reveals a horrifying massacre perpetrated by the Assad regime forces and shabiha against innocent children, women, and men in the town of Ras al-Nabaa near Baniyas in 2013.
The video graphically portrays the aftermath of this atrocity, exhibiting a grim accumulation of victims, including children, women, and young men who were intentionally murdered by the Assad regime and the shabiha militants. Prior to their deaths, the victims were subjected to brutal torture, evident from the distorted condition of their bodies, particularly the head and abdomen.
The residents of the Ras al-Nabaa region were deeply shocked upon witnessing their relatives and acquaintances being burned, killed, and subjected to various forms of barbaric torment at the hands of Assad’s Shabiha militants on March 4, 2013.
In commemoration of the tenth anniversary of the Al-Bayda and Baniyas massacre, the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) issued a statement denouncing the Assad regime as the gravest threat to Syria, its people, and its neighboring countries.
The SOC called on the United States and the international community at large to intensify their efforts and implement time-bound mechanisms to hold the Assad regime accountable while actively working towards achieving a political transition.
