Vice-President of the Syrian Coalition Muwaffaq Nyrabiya said that the armed Syrian opposition will be considering all options to defend the Syrian people against the Russian aggression on Syria. He noted that a political solution is no longer a viable option in the current climate.
Nyrabiya pointed out that the armed and political oppositions are working on closing ranks and arranging their priorities in light of the fierce military campaign waged by the regime and its allies and their violations of international resolutions.
The Assad regime, backed by its Russian and Iranian allies, continues to escalate terrorist attacks across Syria, especially on Aleppo province. Activist in Aleppo said that at least 30 civilians were killed and many more wounded as a result of deadly aerial attacks on the city on Tuesday. The most violent airstrikes targeted the neighborhoods of Almash-had, and Alsha’ar. Civil defense teams said they are having difficulties rescuing victims of the aerial campaign on Aleppo due to the intensity of airstrikes.
Russian jets on Tuesday hit vital civilian facilities in the besieged eastern Aleppo, including ambulance teams and a bakery in the Maadi district. Internationally banned weapons, mostly white phosphorus, were used in the airstrikes on the neighborhoods of Alsaliheen and Alfirdous.
The Coalition’s political committee held a meeting on Tuesday which included members of the Coalition’s General Assembly and the opposition’s High Negotiations Committee (HNC), and reviewed the outcome of the opposition delegation’s meetings held in New York last week. The meeting also discussed the deteriorating situation in Aleppo.
Nyrabiya stressed the need to unite political and military efforts to confront the Russian aggression on Syria in light of the total silence by the international community and inaction by the United States. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
