The Office of Civil Society Organizations in the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC) submitted its work report to the General Assembly during its 65th regular meeting.
The office’s coordinator, Zuhair Muhammad, discussed his efforts to fully adhere to his plan and contribute to supporting the SOC’s overall strategy by finding solutions to alleviate the suffering of Syrian civilians in liberated areas and host countries through cooperation with civil society organizations.
The office reviewed its activities and meetings during the previous period, stressing the importance of strengthening cooperation and partnerships with civil society organizations and discussing joint mechanisms for exchanging experiences and information, in addition to coordination in the areas of health, education, and social care.
The office coordinator announced that he will work on building partnerships with active organizations, networking with them, establishing a database by conducting a survey of the needs of people in liberated areas, activating organizations within Syria, fully engaging with the Syrian Interim Government and local councils, and making the voice of organizations heard to official and supportive authorities.
The office’s recommendations included a commitment to its action plan, and an effective contribution to supporting the SOC’s overall strategy in achieving the Syrian people’s demands for freedom, justice, and dignity.
