The Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) political committee held its periodic meeting on Friday, with participants including SOC’s President Salem al-Meslet, Head of the Syrian Interim Government Abdurrahman Mustafa, members of the General Assembly, and SIG’s ministers.
Participants discussed the latest on the ground and political developments in Syria as well as the latest international and regional political and military developments affecting the situation in Syria. They focused on the consequences of the blockade that the Assad regime imposed on Dara’a city and the widespread violations being committed by the Assad regime forces and Iranian militias.
Defense Minister Major General Salim Idris gave an overview on the field situation in Idlib province, while Health Minister Dr. Maram Al-Sheikh spoke about the developments in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic in northwestern Syria, especially the ministry’s efforts to secure vaccines for the population.
Participants also discussed a study on the property of the absentees in Afrin and reviewed a number of solutions. They put forth a set of recommendations in this regard as they stressed the importance of relief organizations providing assistance to the returnees. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
