Turkish armed forces and the Free Syrian Army groups are completing preparations to launch a military operation against the terrorist groups east of the Euphrates River in northern Syria. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his US counterpart Donald Trump, meanwhile, agreed to step up cooperation in Syria.
President of the Syrian Coalition Abdurrahman Mustafa said that the Syrian people continue to suffer at the hands of the Assad regime forces and other terrorist organizations including the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, Hezbollah, and the PYD militias. He said that any military operation to eradicate these groups “will be welcomed and supported by the Coalition.”
The Free Syrian Army on Friday said they were ready to participate in the upcoming military operation aimed at driving the PYD militia out of east of the Euphrates River. He pointed out that around 15,000 FSA fighters will join the Turkish armed forces in the storming of more than 150 positions of the PYD militia.
Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his US counterpart Donald Trump agreed Friday to ‘more effective coordination’ between their countries’ operations in Syria, according to Turkish presidential sources.
In a speech to the First Judicial Conference of the Constitutional and Supreme Courts, the Turkish president expressed to the member states and observers in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul his country’s intention to secure the areas east of the Euphrates River in Syria.
