President Abdah Meets Syrian Community in Qatar to Check on their Conditions

President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Anas Abdah, accompanied by Head of the Syrian Interim Government (SIG), Abdurrahman Mustafa, met the Syrian community in the State of Qatar as he checked on their living and health conditions. He also discussed with them the latest on the ground and political developments, especially the humanitarian disaster unfolding in Idlib as a result of the escalating military operations.

The meeting was attended by Vice-president, Oqab Yahya, coordinator of the Office of Arab Affairs in the Department of Foreign Relations, Salim al-Khatib, Defense Minister Major General Salim Idris, Minister of Interior Mohiuddin Harmoush, Minister of Local Administration and Services Muhammad Suleiman, and Syrian Ambassador to Doha Nizar Al-Heraki.

The Syrian community included Head of the community council, Muhammad Yassin al-Najjar, the first secretary at the embassy Hazem Lutfi, consul Bilal Turkiya, and members of the community council.

President Abdah talked about the situation in the battlefronts following the latest Turkish-Russian agreement and the heroic resistance the Syrian National Army showed in fending off the Russian-led onslaught on Idlib.

He also talked about the dire humanitarian conditions the displaced people are going through and their distribution in the IDP camps, towns and villages in the liberated areas.

Moreover, President Abdah stressed the importance of strengthening the relationship with the strategic allies in order to mobilize sustainable support for the Syrian people and their just cause. He pointed to the need to focus on preventing normalization of relations with the Assad regime and continuing to isolate it at the regional and international levels.

President Abda stressed the importance of supporting the Syrian Interim Government and its service projects in the liberated areas with the aim of making its administrative work a success and creating a real alternative to the Assad regime and its deteriorating institutions that serve its interests.

He also thanked the Syrian community in Qatar for their distinguished role in making the voice of the Syrian people heard loud and clear as well as their generous support for their brethren in the liberated areas. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)

Preserving independence and national sovereignty and maintaining the Syrian people's unity within the same Syrian soil is one of the critical pillars of the Syrian Coalition. The Coalition aims to overthrow the Assad regime along with all its symbols and pillars. It also aims to dismantle its security apparatus and hold accountable those involved in crimes against Syrians. In addition, it seeks to achieve a transition to a pluralistic, democratic and civil Syria.
