President Khoja stresses that “the heavy Iranian military presence in Syria means only one thing, that Assad is now just a puppet in the hands of Iran, and that the battle now is to liberate Syria from the Iranian occupation,” during a visit he made today to the refugee camps on the Syrian-Turkish border. He was accompanied by the interim Prime Minister Ahmed Tomeh and members of the Syrian Coalition.
Marking the fourth anniversary of the Syrian Revolution in Nizip refugee camp, Khoja said that “four years have passed since the Syrian Revolution broke out, initially peaceful, with protesters chanting: “The Syrian people are one!” However, it was met with repression and brutal crackdown by the Assad regime that has silenced the slightest dissent against its rule for over fifty years. The Syrian people are not now defending Syria only, but also the dignity of the whole Arab nation against the Iranian invaders.”
“We are fighting today on three fronts; against ISIS, the Assad regime and the Iranian occupation, which requires unification of the efforts to achieve victory. The Syrian Coalition is the political representative of the revolution while the FSA is its protective shield,” Khoja added.
At the end of the tour, President Khoja thanked the Turkish government for the considerable efforts and for hosting the Syrian refugees, and also thanked the administration of the Nizbi refugee camp for their tremendous efforts.
The Syrian Coalition’s delegation toured the Nizip camp sections, and were greeted by Turkish foreign representatives in Gaziantep and the administration of the camp. The delegation inspected the education and health facilities and the social services centers.
The delegation reviewed the life conditions in the camp and were briefed about the most important needs of its inhabitants, and discussed the importance of the role of Syrian refugees in reconstruction projects in Syria in the future. President Khoja referred to the intention of the Syrian Coalition to raise the issue of building prefabricated refugee camps inside Syria during its upcoming meeting with the Friends of the Syrian people group.
