The President of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Salem Al-Meslet, recently met with the newly-elected head of the local council in the town of Bazaa in rural Aleppo, Abdul Hamid Al-Zaher, along with the administrative staff of the council. They discussed the current conditions in the town and the significant challenges and difficulties faced by the council in carrying out their work.
During the meeting, Al-Meslet expressed his gratitude to the council for their tireless efforts in responding to the devastating earthquake disaster and for their continuous assistance to those affected by it. He emphasized that the SOC is working tirelessly to encourage donors to deliver aid to the affected people, provide shelter to the homeless, and rebuild what was destroyed by the earthquake.
The attendees also discussed the major difficulties encountered in carrying out the council’s work, particularly the lack of resources at both the institutional and infrastructure levels.
