Najib Rahmon, the coordinator of the Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) office in the liberated areas, recently participated in a sit-in protest organized by activists in northwestern Syria. The purpose of the protest was to express opposition to normalization with the criminal Assad regime, which has caused the deaths, injuries, and displacement of millions of Syrians and the destruction of their homes and cities.
The protesters emphasized their complete rejection of any attempts to reconcile with the Assad regime, and they denounced the Arab calls for such reconciliation. They reaffirmed their commitment to the goals and principles of the Syrian Revolution, including the demand for freedom and dignity, the overthrow of the regime, and the building of a free state for all Syrians.
In a press release issued on Thursday, the SOC stated that any consolidation of the Assad regime’s authority would result in more massacres and crimes against the Syrian people. Therefore, the SOC made it clear that normalization with the regime is not an option for a solution in Syria.
The liberated areas in northwestern Syria have been witnessing demonstrations rejecting any attempts by some Arab countries to normalize relations with the Assad regime. These demonstrations reject the re-legitimization of the regime and any efforts to allow it to return to the Arab League. (Source: SOC’s Media Department)
