Vice president Mustafa Osso condemns the Kurdish Democratic Union Party’s (PYD) arrest of Falmez Osman, member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s regional committee. Elements of the PYD’s police, knowns as the Asayesh forces, raided Falmez’s house on Tuesday night and took him to an unknown location.
Osso stresses that the arrest is a violation of the right to express opinion and freedom to practice political action, holding the PYD responsible for the security and safety of Falmez and calling for his immediate and unconditional release.
The Kurdistan Democratic Party – Syria calls on human rights organizations to intervene rapidly to determine the fate of detainees in the YPD’s prisons in the Afrin area.
It is worth noting that this is the third time Falmez is arrested by the YPD which continues to crack down on political dissidents who criticizes the YPD’s current exclusive and oppressive policies. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
