The PYD terrorist militia kidnapped Ahmed Sufi, a member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in Syria, and journalist Marwan Liyani, just two days after the abduction of journalist Rakan Al-Ahmad.
Local media reported that the PYD militia kidnapped Ahmed Al-Sufi on Tuesday from the town of Al-Malikiyah and took him to an unknown destination, while they abducted journalist Marwan Liyani the day before, on Monday, from his workplace in the town of Ma’bada in the Hasakah countryside, without disclosing his whereabouts.
The General Secretariat of the Kurdish National Council stated in a release that this action is a continuation of the intimidation tactics against supporters of the Kurdish National Council, part of a strategy to silence dissenting voices.
The Kurdish National Council strongly condemned these acts of intimidation and violations, which blatantly violate fundamental human rights. The council urged community organizations and the international anti-ISIS coalition to take action to prevent these recurring incidents and emphasized that such practices will not deter the Kurdish National Council from persisting in its struggle until the rights of Kurds in Syria are restored.
