Mohammed Qaddah said that “the air strikes being carried out against ISIS positions in Syria are doomed to fail unless they are done in coordination with the FSA which needs arms to complete the task,” during an interview with Al Souriya website. “Terrorism is not restricted to the practices of ISIS, but also includes the Assad regime which is the root cause of terrorism in the region. We will continue to fight against all types of terrorism, and we have been fighting ISIS since its inception.” Qaddah criticizes the international coalition’s strikes for causing civilian casualties when targeting ISIS positions in Syria, stressing that “we have repeatedly warned against targeting civilians or exposing them to the lowest level of risk. It is not acceptable to wage war and kill the very civilians we claim we waged the war to defend them. The international community must have formed this alliance since the month of June 2011 to stem the state terrorism perpetrated by the Assad regime, as it has facilitated the crossing of these extremist organizations into Syria to disrupt the revolution of the Syrian people and derail its course. There is international consensus that there must be a comprehensive solution to the crisis, and we reiterate the confirmation that the international coalition against terrorism should take military action against the Assad regime into account as well.” Furthermore, Qaddah stresses the need to impose a no-fly zone to help the FSA to fill the vacuum in areas that are beyond the control of the Assad regime. “We will not able to restore stability and peace to the region as long as Iran continues to employ its financial capabilities and its sectarian militias to kill Syrians, Yemenis and to export its destructive projects to the region” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
