Haytham Rahmeh, Secretary-General of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), has emphasized the imperative of not leaving the Arab tribes to face the PYD militia alone. He contends that eliminating this militia, which acts as an agent of the criminal Assad regime, is a fundamental necessity for the Syrian population as a whole.
“The PYD terrorist group, operating under orders from the Qandil Mountains, has perpetrated numerous violations against innocent Syrians, affecting both Kurds and Arabs. Dismantling this organization is essential to liberating thousands of individuals from the oppressive practices of forced conscription, child recruitment, repression, arbitrary arrests, and the repeated bombing of liberated areas in northern Syria,” Rahmeh said.
He further called for the termination of all forms of international support for this terrorist organization. Rahmeh stressed the need for collaboration with the genuine inhabitants of the region to ensure regional security and stability for its people.
Rahmeh also underscored that preserving and supporting this terrorist organization under the pretext of countering ISIS is entirely unacceptable. Arab armed groups and tribes, he asserted, were at the forefront of the fight against ISIS and bore the brunt of its terrorism in recent years. They remain the most equipped to confront the region’s challenges as the native inhabitants.
