Secretary of the Syrian Opposition Coalition (SOC), Haytham Rahmeh, condemned the continued brutal bombardment by Russia on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv and a number of other cities, which is targeting vital facilities and infrastructure without taking into account the presence of civilians in those areas.
Rahmeh said that what Ukraine is witnessing due to Russian criminality requires international deterrence for Russia and its partners and allies everywhere, and at all levels.”
“Russia’s bombing of infrastructure is not something new. It has practiced all these brutal acts in Syria, and used a scorched earth policy, destroying many cities, displacing civilians, and causing one of the most severe humanitarian crises,” Rahmeh added.
He stressed the need to deter the criminal alliance, namely Russia, the Assad regime, and Iran everywhere, due to the close partnership between them and their many massacres and violations in Syria and Ukraine.
Rahmeh expressed the solidarity of the Syrian people with the Ukrainian people who are victims of Russian terrorism, wishing Syria and Ukraine peace, security, freedom, and salvation from criminal forces.
