Nasr al-Hariri, Secretary General of the Syrian Coalition, condemns the massacre committed by regime forces against fleeing civilians north of Homs. Activists said that 30 civilians were killed out of 70, some of them wounded, when they were ambushed by regime forces while trying to flee to northern Syria. Hariri said that this massacre raises the need to open safe corridors into the besieged areas and to establish safe havens near Syria’s northern and southern borders for civilians to resort to.” He denounces the international silence on Assad’s ongoing massacres against civilians, warning that Assad will continue to exploit the international anti-ISIS campaign to pass and escalate such crimes, spread chaos and break the will of the Syrian people. Hariri stresses that “arming the Free Syrian Army in parallel with striking regime and ISIS targets is the only choice to stop the suffering of civilians and root out terrorism in Syria.” (Source: Syrian Coalition)
