The Action Group for the Palestinians of Syria revealed on Sunday that it has documented the deaths of at least 252 Palestinian-Syrian children since the onset of the Assad regime’s war against the Syrian people in March 2011.
In a report released to commemorate the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression, the London-based monitoring group provided detailed insights. Out of the documented cases, 129 children lost their lives due to bombardment, 22 drowned, 15 were victims of sniper attacks, 11 were killed by gunshots, two died under torture in Assad regime prisons, and 26 perished in car bombings.
The group further recorded approximately 34 children who succumbed to the effects of the blockade imposed by the Assad regime on their respective areas. Additionally, 12 children lost their lives due to various reasons such as burns, suffocation, road accidents, kidnappings followed by killings, while one child’s cause of death remains unknown.
Moreover, the Group disclosed that it has evidence documenting the deaths of 643 Palestinian-Syrian detainees who were subjected to torture in Assad regime prisons since March 2011.
In a related context, the group revealed that 54 Palestinian-Syrians, including two women, from the Sbeineh camp near Damascus, are currently forcibly disappeared by the Assad regime. Furthermore, the security and intelligence branches of the regime are deliberately concealing the identities of Palestinian-Syrian detainees they hold in custody.
