The Syrian Coalition condemns Russia’s deployment of S-400 anti-aircraft missiles in Syria, describing it as an aggressive behavior unrelated to the allegations about fighting terror.
It added that Russia’s transferring of other strategic weapons to Syria, including MiG fighter jets, Sukhoi bombers, T-90 tanks and para-troops units suggests a long-term occupation of Syria. Contrary to its claims about targeting ISIS positions, Russia almost exclusively hit civilian areas and the Free Syrian Army.
The Syrian Coalition stresses that the Russian military build-up in Syria and its targeting of populated areas violate international laws and the UN Charter, adding that the UN Security Council and the United Nations must take the necessary steps to stop such violations. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
