The Syrian Coalition states that Russia’s sending of new weapons to Syria, including air defense systems, contradicts its claim that its intervention is aimed at fighting terrorism. These new shipments of weapons expose Russia’s real intentions, namely to divide Syria and occupy it for the long-run.
In response to the Russian move, an official source in the Syrian Coalition said that it completely contradicts the pledges Russia has made in Geneva and Vienna to preserve the unity of the Syrian state and to respect its sovereignty.
The Syrian Coalition calls upon Russia to immediately withdraw its forces from the entire Syrian territory, warning that its military intervention will be treated as as an occupying power and thus will be countered with all means available. (Source: Syrian Coalition)
