Coordinator of the Syrian-Turkish Joint Committee, Muhammad Salo, offered his condolences to the families of the victims of the traffic accident which took place in the Turkish province of Sivas on Monday, wishing the injured a speedy recovery. A bus carrying Syrian refugees from Istanbul to Diyarbakir crashed, with two passengers killed and many others injured.
Salo, who is also member of the Syrian Opposition Coalition’s (SOC) political committee, pointed out that the extremely dire conditions caused by the Assad regime’s war on the Syrian people forced millions to migrate to escape killing, arrest and torture. He added that the Syrian people are still looking for safety in order to ensure a better future for their children.
He stressed that putting an end to the Syrian tragedy requires achieving political transition in the country through the implementation of UN resolutions on Syria in a way that meets the Syrian people’s aspirations for freedom, dignity and democracy.
