Nora Al Ameer, Vice President of the Syrian Coalition, said that the Assad regime rushed to retract statements by Buthaina Shaaban, that “some of our ally’s TV channels, (hinting to Lebanese pro-Assad Al-Manar and Al-Mayadeen,) have recently broadcasted interviews and reports that suggest that Syria would not have been able to withstand the conspiracy without the support of some countries and parties (presumably Hezbollah and Iran),” according to her Facebook page. “This is unacceptable, as Syria has held on because of 250,000 people dying defending their homeland.” However, Shaaban later appeared on media outlets, including Al-Manar and Al-Mayadeen TVs, which have been recently banned from reporting in Syria, to deny that she had made such statements. Al Ameer said that “this is normal, as the slave cannot rebel against his master, though sometimes there is resentment. The regime’s retraction of these remarks confirm that Syria is militarily occupied by Iran and Hezbollah, and that those two are credited for the survival of the Assad regime.
