The Directorate for Documentation of Violations and Human Rights of the Syrian Interim Government on Wednesday published an annual report detailing the major violations of the Assad regime and PYD terrorist militia in the liberated in 2022.
The Directorate said it had documented the deaths of 118 civilians, including nine women and 47 children, and the injury of 372 others, including 55 women and 134 children across the freed territories in 2022. The Assad regime and its allies were responsible for the killing of 75 civilians, including six women and 35 children, and the injury of 219 civilians, including 39 women and 80 children.
The report indicated that the PYD terrorist militia was responsible for killing 43 civilians, including three women and 12 children, and the injury of 153 others, including 16 women and 54 children.
The Directorate said it had recorded at least 1,314 attacks on the liberated areas during the reporting period, of which the Assad regime was responsible for 1,211 attacks, while the PYD militia was responsible for 103 others.
The Directorate also said that it had documented at least eight massacres against civilians in the freed territories, of which the Assad regime was responsible for five massacres, while the PYD militia was responsible for three others.
It also recorded at least four direct attacks on protected objects and staff, of which the Assad regime was responsible for two attacks, while the PYD militia was responsible for two others. It also documented the use of internationally prohibited weapons (cluster munitions), in five attacks, all of which were carried out by the Assad regime.
