The Syrian Interim Government (SIG) issued a decision regarding the measures being taken in the liberated areas to stem the outbreak of the coronavirus. It called for abiding by the recommendations and guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health to stem the spread of the pandemic.
The decision was outlined in 14 recommendations, including the continued closure of internal crossing points and the mandatory wearing of masks in public places.
The recommendation included obliging visitors of restaurants, cafes and public parks to observe social distancing and ensuring the observance of preventive measures issued by the Ministry of Health.
The decision urged SIG staff, vendors in public markets, and shoppers to abide by social distancing, stay away from gatherings, and postpone events and activities such as weddings until further notice.
The decision also called for instructing the Syrian National Army and the Free Police Force to enforce precautionary measures issued by the Ministry of Health, stressing that the Ministry of Health will provide them with masks free of charge.
